1990 CD Turbo Tranny slippage/hesitation symptoms Posted by JeffR [Email] (#2860) [Profile/Gallery]

My Automatic transmission in my 1990 CD Turbo has been acting up this past week. Sometimes it will stall at first start-up in the a.m. when I put it in reverse. It will hesitate, or engage slowly when I put it in drive. If I manually shift down to "3rd" it will act as if it hits neutral before it engages in gear. Down-shifting to 2nd or 1st there is no "slippage" or hesitation/engaging into those gears.
I first noticed a problem one night on the freeway when the highway speed changed from 55 to 70, I hit the gas and the turbo kicked in and the tranny seemed to slip and then clunk into the next gear.
Also, I should note, a couple of years ago I had the Gov. seal replaced because 1st gear wasn't engaging.
Am I looking at a bad transmission, or am I looking at another governor seal job?
Thanks in advance!
