Could use help with "bucking/stuttering" on Accelerate Posted by dbreid [Email] (#1192) [Profile/Gallery] (more from dbreid) on Fri, 23 May 2008 15:24:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
All,
I have a 1993 Saab 9000 Aero 5 speed, which I love. It has been a great car, but recently (in the last week) it began to do the following:
1.) On Acceleration, it kind of stutters. Almost like a light and continuous jerking motion. Not that pronounced, but definitely there.
2.) The base bost is in the middle of the green, and the boost definitely raises, but it stops about in the transition from yellow to red, even if I floor it. The car used to boost properly into the red.
3.) I do not get an CEL.
4.) The car seems to idle fine, but is a little rougher any time I accelerate.
I read a lot (as much as I could find), and I heard that it might be either the spark plugs or the BPC valve.
I ordered new NGK's at the board's recommendation (just got them today and haven't put them in) and I read about cleaning the valve with electrical cleaner (which I also haven't done).
Is there anything else I should check? What is the best way to diagnose?
Thanks in advance.
