93 saab 9000 cse won't run Posted by Joe [Email] (#444) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Joe) on Thu, 29 May 2008 09:02:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
93 saab 9000 cse (non turbo) 200,000 miles. Got fill up. About 70-100 miles later, while driving, car stalled. It did not backfire or buck. I rolled it out of the road and tried banging tank at fuel pump while turning over. Nothing happened. When I took the fuse out, the car started. It ran rough while I was pumpimg the gas peddle, raw fuel was leaking to the ground near catalytic converter. Cat converter got red hot - had to shut off car. Started again without fuse. Put fuse in, car stalled or would not start. Without fuse I started the car and moved it so that the tow truck could pick it up. Prior to this incident, I had installed a new DI, new fuel regulator, O2 sensor. Airmass meter is good. I changed the crankshaft sensor. There are no codes stored in LH. On DI permanent code #429BO (engine starts but runs on engine boost only (turbo talk?) Now occasionally the car backfires when started and separates manifold. When starting, grayish exhaust to start then clear. Pressure to regulator is good. Power to fuel pump good. With fuse out, no power to fuel pump. Fuel lines at fuel pump are good and clear.
