First, I would not consider Firestone ever. Second, few Goodyears ever give enough wear to warrant their price.
Many here have gone to the Michelin Pilot Exalto. First, a V rated Michelin will equal a Z rating on most other mfr tires. More tire for the money. Second, you will likely get twice the mileage out of the Michelin than most others - unless you drive like a goofball, peeling out for show. Again, more tire for the money.
I got H rated 205/55-16 Exaltos for about $110 each installed last year. Discount tire has coupons online. Honestly, they don't feel like Z's, but they do feel like a V+ and 10 times better than an H rated Firestone! I do alot of highway miles in Medical Sales racking up 2000-3000 miles per month. Mine have about 30,000 miles on them and they appear nearly new. I expect to get 80,000 to over 100,000 out of them. I got 90,000 out of the Pilot MXV4 Plus' previously.
Give Michelin a try. Go Exalto.
