totally failed syncro, not bad syncro Posted by MTAERO [Email] (#2408) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MTAERO) on Thu, 26 Jun 2008 15:59:22 In Reply to: Re: failed syncro, Abusot, Thu, 26 Jun 2008 05:01:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
This is not a question of nursing a bad syncro. The syncro action dissapeared completely instantly. It feels like the 2nd gear syncro set were left out of the box. Double clutching matches the input shaft speed to the engine speed, but does not match the second gear speed to the speed of the input shaft. This is the job of the syncro when shifting with the clutch disengaged whether single or double clutching.
Precice rev matching is the only way to make a shift now without severe grinding.
This leads me to think that part of the synchro itself ect has broken???????
