I just replace the two original front brake calipers on my '98 9000. The calipers where applying pressure to the rotor when the brake pedal was depressed causing unnecessary friction that is now no longer present. My auto transmission now doesn't shift correctly when before the new calipers it worked perfectly. i.e. When I hit the gas at 25mph it shifts into 4th. I was under the impression when I bought the car that the automatic 'learns' from the driver and sets the shift points up according to driving behavior. However I read from another post 'Wrong shift points are usually govenor seals, which can be replaced by someone of decent skills with the tranny in the car.' Is my impression on having a 'learning' transmission wrong? If not, is it possible that the transmission has to re-learn new shift points based on the more available torque? I'm I completely wrong and just need suck it up and get the tranny fixed?
