Just fixed this on my '96, it WAS the switch pack. So I'm posting it to this thread not for DAO two months late, but in case someone else with the problem does a search and finds this.
Carefully disassembled the switch pack and polished all contacts with 320 grit paper, reassembled. Magic.
One rear door had been spotty, worked both ways but only some of the time. Other would go down but not up. Door switches didn't work either - - passenger side not at all, driver side also would send it down, but not up, same as switch pack.
Now, both sides work fine, on switch pack or on the doors, and I never touched the door switches or the electrics.
If you pop your switch pack open be aware, the two outer contact rockers on the front windows are different from all others, with narrower notches in the middle. And be very careful of the little spring brass contacts that hang right over those two contacts; they trigger the relays that auto-open the windows if you push all the way. But if they're bent they either don't work at all, or the relay keeps trying to open the window when you want it closed - - at random.
