Hello 9000 owners...
Long post here, good for curious people, bad for getting quick info, but hey... I thought I'd share... Skip down for my questions, or read on for photos.
I've been out of the country for a while, during the last year have made little if any progress on my 1988 9k Airflow project car. I'm picking up where i left off in AUG 07, Some of you may remember it:

I took some pictures before I left of my parts... and I thought i would share them with you. Sas swaybars, ate rotors, external voltage reg, jak's intercooler, new AID and rebuilt t3/t4 50 trim by Dave from group9, new calipers i painted, ss lines, nology wires, redtop injectors... not shown i have jak's stage 2 ecu chip and a group9 apc box... others too

Most of these parts are already on the car, now that I am back, but I haven't had any time to post shots of the work of them on the car. Here's a few, centerforce clutch, lightweight flywheel, that's an OLD abbott racing 2.5" turbo back exhaust with "high flow" cat... will upgrade to 3 someday... but i like this one fine

QUESTION:
Reason for this post is mainly intercooler piping, and spacing questions... for any 2.0 9k owner on here who has mabey gone through this.
I knew piping would be different since in the photos you can see this intercooler is made in the later style 9000, with the end tanks pointed towards the ground and not the throttle body like the stock IC...
Here's a shot of it in the car, should be on bottom of post too.

Its not the same width as my stock radiator, meaning that the pins on the bottom aren't as wide apart as the radiators pins. 2 inch difference i think. New intercooler 23 inches, stock radiator 25 inches. I guess they made a 23 inch radiator mount as well, but not sure what year that was in. There is an adjustable width bracket system already built in the car, but with 2 different sizes, does me no good.
Also i'm not sure if the pin on the top of the intercooler is supposed to rest against the front engine frame like it is in the pic or go inside of that... might have to modify that too???
Anyways, Making a bracket to mount the intercooler isn't a problem, the piping will be...
Has anyone done this with success and have dimensions? I contacted jak and if I was there he could do custom piping for me. I can also get custom piping up here too... so i guess I answered my own question... just throwing it out there tho to see if anyone knows.
now my REAL question to you all is...
I'd REALLY like to keep my AC... i like cold air in hot summertime...
Since the AC condenser goes in front of the intercooler... is this just totally defeating the purpose of buying a high flow intercooler? Am i just shooting myself in the foot If i retain my Ac??
Could I, in theory... put the intercooler FIRST, THEN the condenser, and then my radiator?
Or would the fact that I don't have space for an AC condenser fan now become a problem as well?
does that AC fan run all the time when the AC is on? Could the condenser work without the fan?
Does anyone know enough about that system / part of the car to offer any HELPFUL suggestions if i wanted to try and keep the AC?
would like to keep this daily-driver-ISH... but obviously I know without the condenser and entire AC system, the car will be "faster".
Enjoy the pics, wish me luck... and... It's good to be back in america :)
