I posted the other day about our 9000 that just quit while driving it. It was really cold, and it would not restart. We got it home (pushed it 5 miles with my 900) and last night it started. But the engine still makes a loud noise, way louder than old-engine valve tapping. Not sure how to describe it. My wife said when she started it that time, she rvved it to 2500 to charge the battery, but when she let off the gas it didn't want to idle and it died, and there was smoke from the engine area (not much smoke, but still smoke).
Today we started it, still the noise. It seemed like the engine temp rose to halfway quicker than usual. We took it for a spin. When she tried using turbo boost, the car wasn't having it at all. The car didn't want to go more than 45 mph. We got it back home. The engine seemed very hot; some smoke out of the oil dipstick tube.

Any ideas? Oil pump malfunction? Blts and pulleys seemed OK.
