I pulled my instrument panel and took a look at things. I noticed the circuit board controlling all items in that corner of the display was cracked. I am certain that I caused that during one of my previous surgeries. I was fortunate to have a spare to replace it with. I replaced the circuit board and VOILA! I got my warning lights and battery light when I switched the ignition to the on position. I fired it up and it was charging as it should. I had so much fun reassembling the dash cover I decided to do it twice. (got it all together and realized the 2 extra screws were to hold the instrument panel in place) It is interesting to note that the alternator could still be excited even without the battery light. Another time consuming lesson learned. I was on vacation so I had the time anyway.
