Idler Pulley confusion....Please help Posted by JEMSaab [Email] |
The car is '95 9k aero 5spd. I'm replacing the serp belt tensioner, tensioner pulley and idler pulley. All is going well except I just removed old idler pulley and compared it the new one and the size (diameter) is different. The old pulley came out with the bolt, a small washer on the bolt and then pulley. The new one came with the bolt, small washer on bolt AND a large indented washer that sits in the pulley. The new pulley is larger around than the old pulley. Maybe this doesn't matter, however I'm scared to put it in and have too much tension due to the increased size. Also do I even need the large indented washer, as the old one was in there without one. You can visit eEuroparts.com to see the pulley I got. Its the febi/bilstein one..part #4901625F. This may not be an issue, however any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
