Try doing a complete brake fluid and clutch fluid flush to freshen-up the clutch pedal travel. Old brake fluid becomes water laden-ed from the surrounding air and lessen the clutch pedal travel due to contamination. This worked for my 87/9000t, just when I thought that the clutch was going. It disengages very smoothly now with-out first gear engagement being so hard to do. Brake fluid should be changed every 2-3 years.
