Before I started looking for cracked turbos, I'd start with the easy stuff.
First, overboost won't be caused by the DI or spark plugs. It's plumbing, most likely.
Find the "W" hose from the BPC, pull it off, and suck on it. (Engine Off). It should feel like sucking on a closed hose - you can't pull any air through it. If you can suck air through it, the hose is cracked or the wastegate diaphram is bad.
If that's OK, reach under the turbo (COLD CAR!!) where the linkage from the wastegate actuator connects to the turbo - there is a little lever arm there. Is it connected? The linkage is held on to the turbo wastegate arm by a little clip. The clip falls off, the linkage isn't connected, and the wastegate never opens.
Everything connected? Try to open the wastegate manually. Pull on the wastegate linkage - away from the body, toward the turbo. It should move about a 1/2 inch, but with a strong spring force. It won't be easy to move, but it should move. If it doesn't move, the wastegate actuator is stuck.
Start the car, and listen to the BPV. It should buzz. No buzz, it may be a bad transistor driver in the Trionic box (no, not happy). A buzz doesn't mean you don't have a bad transistor.
Get yourself a little plastic elbow that will take the same hose sizes as on the BPC. Plumb the "C" line to the "W" line. If you can only find a "T", stick a piece of hose on the extra leg of the "T" and block it off. The idea is to connect the "C" to the "W". Go for a drive. Overboost gone? Can't get much more than mid yellow? Then the wastegate is fine. It is either the BPV or the driver in the Trionic. A bad BPV (shorted coil) can damage the transistor drivers in the Trionic box. Plug in a good BPV, and it doesn't help, because the transistor is blown.
But I'd start with a simple test - is the hose from the intake to the BPV OK? Is the hose from the BPV to the wastegate actuator OK? Is the linkage from the wastegate actuator to the turbo arm attached?
