diagnosing ABS light

I bought this car with a known bad front wheel bearing and intermittent ABS light. It's either on or of when starting; doesn't have to move to fault. When the car starts with the ABS light off, it works fine for the entire drive. I figured the reluctor ring could have been off alignment due to the bearing. After replacing the bearing, ABS light seems to be almost always on. I remember cleaning the grime off the sensor but don't think I cleaned the ring. Of course it could also be either of the other 3 sensors, pump or module.

Once recently I got the light to stay off for one run by disconnecting and reconnecting the module with the system off.

I just tried the easiest thing first- somebody gave me 2 spare ABS modules and swapped one to no improvement.
Is there a way to diagnose (light flash codes perhaps?) the fault in the system?

This is my 3rd 9k and the first one I had with an ABS issue. I still have the wrecked 95 aero with no abs fault as a potential part donor.
