The transmission is used to moving the weight of the car around. Nothing different in your case. It's designed for certain loads. It's not much different than off-throttle compression slowing.
(Also, if the car was on a hill, it's possible it moved by itself, without help from that other car... I don't know if it was parked on a hill though.)
