Quick TCS question. '92 9kT Auto Posted by JustinHiFi [Email] (#829) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JustinHiFi) on Wed, 25 Mar 2009 22:24:24 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I know David Ingram has written much about this, but others chime in as well...
'92 9kT with TCS. After resetting ETC fault code for "safety system activated" vehicle runs really well, ac works etc. About once out of 3-6 restarts of the vehicle, the safety system is reactivated with no other fault codes being stored. Moving the vehicle is not even needed in order to get safety system to activate.
I have done the fault tracing in TCS manual for when only the safety system is activated without any other fault codes. There are no leaks in the TB, check valve to from the intake to the safety valve or from safety valve to the TB. New check valve and new vacuum lines. I was told valve was replaced (it looks sorta new/clean) about a year ago by general mechanic.
Does the throttle remain under vacuum when the vehicle is not running? Each time currently, the safety valve opens and dumps vacuum from TB. What are the ohm readings or voltage readings that can be taken from the valve to verify it is good?
Thanks in advance.
