get some brake cleaning solvent (spray can at Advanced/Autozone, etc) to get the protective coating off the new rotor.
Be sure to put anti-squeal lube on the backs of the new pads, and a dab of caliper lube on the sliding parts of the calipers. Get little packets of this stuff at the auto parts store.
Clean the calipers and slides with a wire brush before lubing and reassembly. Putting a brush on your cordless drill works well.
Use a new set screw to retain the rotor, and put anti-seize on the thread.
You may need a cheater on the breaker bar or wrench you use to loosen the caliper bolts.
Consider using new pad retention springs.
Put a little anti-seize on the rotor to hub mounting surface.
