What year? Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Sun, 12 Apr 2009 04:53:33 In Reply to: 9000S missing(?) when cold, JB, Sat, 11 Apr 2009 07:18:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
What year/engine? (2.0 or 2.3).
Used plugs - not a great idea. Plugs that look good can still have issues. You also didn't mention the gap - did you check and set the gap on the plugs?
White plugs usually indicate lean running. Checked for vacuum leaks? How old is the fuel filter?
It might be as simple as a loose clamp, letting in lots of air (vacuum leak) when cold, but as the engine warms up and things expand, the leak seals. Get a screwdriver/nutdriver and tighten up every clamp you can find, including the ones for the four fat hoses that connect the throttle body to the intake manifold. And any other place you can find.
Also - bad AMM - air mass meter. The electronics isn't happy at cold. Depending on the year, the separate ignition box could have warm-up issues. But I'd start with NEW plugs, properly gapped.
