Rear Brake Caliper Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Mon, 13 Apr 2009 06:27:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
While changing my snows for summer wheels yesterday on my 1994 9000 CS Turbo, I noticed that the one of the rear rotors is not being swept on the outside - can't see the inside, but the inside pad is quite worn down (will need replacement). This caliper was replaced with a rebuilt a few years ago as some previous "mechanic" stripped the adjusting mechanism for the parking brake.
What might be the cause of this? Inadequate lubrication of the slider pins plus corrosion is my guess; I used antisieze, but this may not have done the job, and the rebuilt calipers have the plating removed. Or is it something defective in the caliper?
