tml,far easier motor out-just in case of more damage.you need a engine hoist/about $150.- pep boys.same one iv'e got/no need to pay more. now what you have to look for is any damage to the crank.minor marks will polish up.any blueing/scoring the crank will need turning.if it looks o.k. install the new bearing w/plasticguage/torque to spec/remove bearing/cap read guage to see if the crank is in wear limits.mike the crank also.all o.k.? all new bearings on rods/mains.clean pan gally's. all new rod/main bolts.read a engine rebuilding manual.so this whole procedure is clear. best of luck. burt.
