You should be considering all non-TCS 5spd Aeros from 94 to 98 (CSE). You can't limit yourself to one year or you'll be looking forever. As long as you avoid 93's and you buy the cleanest car with the best records, you'll do fine. I am shocked at how prices for 190K mile Aeros seem to have increased in the past year, but that reflects the lack of supply.
My 94 Aero had an issue with the internal speedo gear (in a 8mo old rebuilt box by the way). I was able to drive the car for another 18mos with no speedo, although the ECU limited boost and the car ran rich. a broken speedo gear doesn't always mean base boost, but in the end, if you want a working speedo and full boost, the cost to replace that gear is equal to the cost of replacing the entire box.
If you want the best ownership experience, I'd recommend getting a turbo back 3" exhaust and Bilstein struts as soon as possible.
