You are correct in that a screw driver between the trans housing and the inner CV driver prying against the trans will not pop the innner CV driver out of the trans. The driver side is easier to remove. There are 5 torx bolts that need to be removed. Before doing so, drain the trans of the trans oil otherwise you'll end up with a big oil slick when you pull out the inner driver. It goes back in the same way. Replace the o-ring that is present on the inner driver when you go to reinstall it. The passenger side is a lot more difficult. There is a bracket that is bolted to the engine block that requires the removal of the alt and the power steering pump to get at the bolts to remove the bracket. The tube that is present I believe should come out. Now, I haven't needed to take the passenger side out and I hope I never do because the job is a bear! I understand that this is part of the reason why 9000's do not have much torque steer is because the drive axels are the same length. That bracket I mentioned is bolted to the block; you just have to reomve some parts in order to get the whole assembly out. I hope that helps.
