Device to monitor ECU signals to BPC Posted by sam96CS [Email] (#852) [Profile/Gallery] (more from sam96CS) on Fri, 11 Sep 2009 08:22:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Whenever we clean and test the BPC to troubleshoot a boost problem, it is because we don't know whether the BPC is malfunctioning or doing what the ECU commands it to do.
Imagine a pass-through device that attaches to the BPC's electrical connector. The BPC harness attaches to the other end of the device. The device passes through the ECU's signals to the BPC. At the same time, the device monitors the ECU's signals and displays on a dashboard gauge what the ECU is commanding the BPC to do. The driver can then see if the ECU's signal is in line with actual boost performance. No more need to clean, test or swap out good BPCs. Maybe it would be useful for tuners, too.
The idea is free, which could be its fair market value. I don't have the engineering chops to develop it. Hope this will be an interesting and profitable project for somebody. I will help test the prototypes for free. :)
