Ari and all that responded, thanks.
The crank pully looks to be fully intact, at least what I can see and feel from the top of the engine. The tensioner shock still has maasive spring but may not have any oil left in it since it springs right back.
The belt was way past replacement stage based upon the cracks. The 2 idler pullies have smooth bearings but probably more play than they should and don't move vertically very much. All other bearings seem to be tight with the exception of the water pump, but no leakage from the pump, so it maybe normal play.
This happened while I was running and pulled into a driveway. The AC may have kicked in but that's hard to know. I've seen the load that the clutch hits the belt with many times nad usually it remains smooth. But who knows now. Are the bearings on new idler pullies so tight there is no lateral or horizontal play?
Thanks for the help.
