When you go over a bump does the pedal travel increase slightly? If this is so and it is from your brakes it is called "knock back" this is when the pad kisses the disc, or the pad slides back in the caliper. Not sure what the spreader should be or what mechanisim is used to hold the pads on your vehicle. You will nottice that you should have a "fist" type caplier and that it slides on 2 pins, if the rollback from the piston seal too much, then it will slop around a bit. Check that the caliper ears on the kunckle are parallel, as this increases the angle that the pad meets the disc at and increases the slide distance and the pad to rotor clearance. Do your rotors cone?
If it is caliper rattle, then this will occur on Belgium blocks, this is often pads, but can be the caliper on the sliding pins.
In essence I need to hear the sound and a fair bit more detail to answer
Hope this gives you some direction
Cheers
