Having never rev'd any 9k's I owned to even 4,500 rpm I can only imagine what it is like at 5,500 especially in low gears. The testosterone level in my system is not where it used to be in my younger days. I wonder if the fact torque starts do drop off at the flat maximum value bewteen 1,600 rpm and 4,300 rpm or so is what you were feeling in the cabin. At 5,500 rpm the torque output is tha same as that at 1,500 rpm.
Try shifting gears between 1,600 rpm and 4,300 rpm to see if you feel the same flat spot. I may be completely off base.
