A question for Ari,
I am replacing the alternator in my 9000 and the Bosch rebuilt one came without the external fan. I took the old one and as I slide it in, with the washer and the pulley they don't slide all the way back exposing enough threading to make the nut catch. The metal wedge/key that sits in the groove in the shaft seems to flip up in the back as I push/tap in the pulley. Is there a special tool or trick necessary to get this done? I have already installed the new alternator in the car and re-attached the power steering bracket so I would hate to take it out again... What are my options? I feel the worse one is to take the alternator off and acknowledge defeat and dishonor by bringing it to a shop to have them slide in the pulley... HELP! Thanks!
