Curious windshield wiper problem....some clues inside Posted by turrbo [Email] (#8) [Profile/Gallery] (more from turrbo) on Wed, 9 Dec 2009 18:53:48 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
We had a sweet snow/rain/ice/slush storm here in MA today, and my wipers got a good run at full speed during my morning commute and again during my drive home. I parked at home, apparently leaving the wipers on delay when I shut the car off. Went to move the car later, and the wipers went halfway up the windshield and cut out. The rear wiper still worked, as did the washer fluid, so the switch is likely OK. After about 10 minutes of playing with the switch, and popping out the fuse to check it, they started working again.
Interesting things to note: When the wipers weren't working, the interior lights would dim slightly when I tried to turn them on. No relay or motor noise though. Also, lately my rear wiper only works when the front wipers are on, including the sprayer.
So, what's your vote? Switch, relay or motor? I replaced the motor with a used one about 2 winters ago. The replacement is kind of noisy and slow, but has always worked fine.
This is a '95 CS that has just come out of 6 month storage.
