The Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) should follow one of the 2 maintenance procedures:
1. A complete flush every 30K.
2. Drain from the pan (get rid of about 40%) and top off every 10K.
# 1 or #2 would do.
However, if it has not been maintained as above, suggest that you do #1 now, to be followed by #2 there after.
There is an alternate to #1 that you can do yourself:
Drain from the pan, drive the car for a day or two; repeat it two more times.
Since it still shifts great, it is worth your while to do the above.
Good luck.
