Just looked again at those switches. Besides the obvious Pitting of the contact points.. the REAL reason that the Saab switches screw up is that the Pointed end of the grey plastic spring loaded centre piece (that fits into the V groove of the contacts rocker) wears down. This, my saab indie pointed out to me almost 20 years ago on my '84 900. All one really can do is smooth the pitted points 'some'..Too much and there ain't anything left for 'next time' and carefully reforming the point on the grey plastic bit...which works once or three times, after that it's too short to work properly, really burning those points quickly. So it's salvage a 'fresher' plastic piston bit from a better condition switch. Which once you think about it for a second, suggests simply stuffing in the 'newer' switch in it's entirety?. Easy to do onna C900, A wee bit tougher on these switch packs in the later 9000's.
Been patching Window switches annually for 20 years, as the 'repair' simply doesn't hold for very long. Suggestion: the far easier longer lasting solution is to simply fit a new switch or Yikes! the entire switch pack on our newer cars.
Tough call actually, Money ? Or time spent fiddling/patching.. repeatedly? So far I've gone the patch route, but I'm getting a bit old for the continuing abuse.
