There is a rubber air line fitted to the underside of the throttle body that can blow out of its brass fitting. This will cause the symptoms you describe. This is a 5 minute item to check by removing the upper rubber "elbow" where the main air intake goes into upper fuel injector row. You can see immediately if this fitting and hose blew out from above. My repair was to push back up and spread the brass flange to keep it in the throtte body base and then reinforce with cable ties around the whole works for extra support. Go for it - i think this is your issue.
Years of oil takes its toll on the union of this brass fitting and it will eventually be able to pop out. Let us know if this is it!
