Older Audis seem to have the headlight washer sprayer on a little protrusion out on the bumper; the newer ones, starting with the 1996 A4, have a small rectangular door that pops up from almost flush with the bumper - door is opened by hydraulic pressure of the pump. On my A4, there is a separate washer pump motor for the headlight sprayer, which seems to be similar in size to the one for the windshield washers; both pumps source fluid from the 5 or 6 liter washer fluid tank in the left front corner of the car.
Also note that unlike my 9000, the A4 windshield nozzles are HEATED and emit a spread-out pattern, not just two streams.
