Yes you can replace the hose yourself but unless you have a really good vacum pump to "boil off" the air in the system you might want to have a shop evacuate and recharge after your repair (their equipment can do it better and more acurately than you can). I would replace the receiver/drier as well with the hose. Be careful on the fittings as they can strip pretty easily so don't go wrenching on them.
