Our 97 CS had a split boot on the drivers side outer CV joint. I was going to replace the axle and later try to reboot the old one as a spare. eEuro tells me that the axle for the 5 speed CS (LPT model in the US) is different than the full turbo model of the same vintage, and Empi doesn’t make the one for the CS. So I stopped by a few local auto parts places – national chains – and they all can get a remanufactured axle, and it’s the same axle for either the Aero or the CS. So I’m confused about what to do.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any recommendations? (I know, just put a new boot on).
