Yes it does. That was the other reason I took the head back off. I wanted to rule everything else out. I had a friend hold the chain while I spun the crank. Rotation was smooth with no "stiff" spots. Also, the chain feeds freely and isn't catching or binding during travel. Got to be the head.
I'm trying to decide whether it's worth it to take the head back to the machine shop. Short of me getting a second opinion from another machine shop / mechanic (more money down the drain), I don't see how I can prove the cams are binding if they don't produce the same result while not attached to the block. The head-work cost me $300. Should I cut my losses?
