You can drive w/o a clutch, it just takes a deft hand and matching revs bewtween gears. To start, you put the car in 1st and use the starter to move the car. Not elegant or easy on the car, but it will get you home. If the drive is backroads and city traffic, I would be more inclined to seek out a repair.
Years ago, I drove a 92 VW Jetta GLI 16V for two weeks with no clutch while I waited for an appointment at the shop I wanted to use. It's very similar to driving a trans with dog gears.
