I will have to remove the transmission in order to replace one or more seal, as it is slowly dripping some oil. As my indy told me, we should probably replace the clutch and the slave cylinder while the transmission is down. He also mentionned that he hears some bearing noise too. So we are heading for a 1,200 to 1,500 $ job easily.
The car is a 9000 1998 cse, has 112,000 miles and is in great shape. The clutch and slave cylinder are ‘supposed’ to have been changed at 76,000 miles when i bougth the car, but i never knew for sure if it has been changed then.
How can i check that the clutch is the original or not ? And how can i check that the clucth need to be replaced ? How can i check the bearing need to be replaced since i dont hear anything special ?
I dont plan to keep this car for more than a year and i dont expect to get a great price out of it even if it s rustfree and in great shape since i live up North in Québec. Any suggestion regarding what i should do ?
Thank you all
Gilbert B.
