Repair update 9000 CSE Posted by skibumm100 [Email] (#3255) [Profile/Gallery] (more from skibumm100) on Wed, 22 Sep 2010 06:14:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've been driving the 97 CSE since I got the head gasket job done. It was pretty doggy and I discovered I'd left a clamp loose on the turbo outlet. I fixed that and discovered I was only getting base boost. Did some troubleshooting last night and found an open circuit on one of the BPC valve coils. I grabbed one off the parts car and it worked perfect. I'm now boosting just into the red striped area. I think it's still a little low but I also discovered that I had a bad PCV check valve. I was going to swap one out of the 93 parts car...bad. I grabbed one out of the 94 Aero that currently suffers from overboost at WOT.....that one was bad too. Will a bad PCV check valve cause "slightly" lower peak boost? I ordered up a bunch of odds and ends from Eeuro so I'll post back after I get the new checks installed. I ordered a Scan Tech valve and a Genuine Saab valve. I doubt there's a functional difference.
