If all you want to do is be able to put on the 5-bolt rim of your choice--which is purely for looks--then these *might* be OK. They "appear" to be well made, but I still don't trust the spacer approach.
Unless you compensate for the thickness of the spacer with a different offset, the wheels will be too far out from where they are supposed to be. The description in the ad even talks about the outer edge of the tires being *outside* of the fenders. This slot car look does nothing positive, at least on a street car.
> Compromises suspension travel and even tire clearance with the fender at full lock.
> Gives you a wider track (usually good) but at the expense of added stress on the wheel bearings. Replacing bearings is not hugely hard, but it isn't cheap, so you get looks in exchange for higher maintenance.
> Puts added stress on ball joints and probably tie rod ends.
If you want the wider selection of rims so you will have better performance on track days, be aware that some track day or HDPE organizations prohibit spacers because they are not safe at the high cornering loads put on cars at these events because of the changes they make in suspension geometry (and ball joints, rod ends) and how they physically connect to the vehicle.
The ad says "similar to spacers used on race cars. The difference is that spacers used on race cars are thinner, designed to make predictable small incremental adjustments in a car's suspension, and are used on cars that are otherwise adapted or intended to use spacers.
I'd like a wider selection of wheels for my 9K, too. But spacers aren't really the answer.
