Unlike the rear brake calipers on most cars, the parking brake mechanism on a SAAB 9000 has an adjustment screw hidden under a 14mm cap; you remove the cap, then use a 4mm (?) Allen wrench to back off the adjustment mechanism, which will then allow the caliper piston to retract. If you use a large C-clamp to compress the caliper piston, you ABSOLUTELY WILL RUIN THIS MECHANISM and you will no longer have functional parking brakes (my car came this way from previous owner).
