Here in North/Central Vermont it is just around freezing right now, and we're 'sposed to be getting a couple of warmish days like this one - so I slapped it together as suggested by Saabnutt, and if it cures, fine - if not, I'll snatch it back off and see if I have a whole spare one instead.
I was asking about super glue in general terms only so I have a better idea of what it'll do and not do; I'd already seen what good advice I'd been given and went with that.
It was doubly good too because I had 2 tubes of it to choose from right within arm's reach.
Gave both surfaces a good cleaning with alcohol too - now only time will tell if it stays stuck...or not.
