I did a thorough search on this board and a few others. Finally came up with a solution used by a few ingenious Saab DIY's. Buy the actual optical sensor and retro-fit it to my 92 9KT. I got the crank pulley off using the wedged breaker bar/starter method. After that, it was just a matter of using some good quality butt splices, friction tape for protection, and some heat shrink tubing. The part number is 4AV16F.
I cannot believe some companies charge $300 for the complete unit and harness which is nothing but the CPS, some wire leads, a metal braket and a connector on the other end. That's if you can find it. It was NLA for my 92. This part works for 91-92 9000's (Maybe 93's, but the 94-98 MY use a different sensor). Hope this helps someone else.
