If your Aero is stock then it should only just barely touch the red...maybe just the dashed lines. With the scantech one is it hitting the dashed line? If it is then that is where it is supposed to be. Putting the old BPC back just to boost way into the red will be harmful to your engine without proper tuning. And with proper tuning you will need a working BPC. I have no experience with the scantech ones, but I know I don't trust them for a lot of other parts.
Now, if you are enjoying getting that far into the red than it might be time to start looking into some tuning options. My boost gauge points at the F on the fuel gauge when I really get on it. :-) Good luck.
