I had this problem with my Audi A4 - to change the suspension arms I had to hammer on the suspension uprights, which led to tiny rust particles finding their way to the tip of the ABS sensor. Removed the sensor from suspension upright, wiped off with a rag, reinserted sensor, no more ABS fault light.
