using something like Leatherique? Unless the leather is torn or horribly "alligator-ed", you might have some success with this - it worked wonders on my Audi, although as a water-based dye it is not as durable as some more "aggressive" types, needing touch up every so often.
I like the idea of Alcantera or some other fabric vs. leather; I find that leather looks nice, but that is its only redeeming feature - my 9000CS came with cloth seats, as did my 900S.
