With this TCS car, everything is fly-by-wire. Its not like the normal throttle body where the kickdown cable attaches to the underside of a throttle cam. I'm very familiar with that setup. This sucker goes to a big old electrical jobby, located right near the aquarium drain on the bottmom of the firewall. It has a large electrical connector, and about 10 wires, with a spot to anchor the cable coming in, then a bracket that rotates like a clock hand. That bracket is where the loop-end of the kickdown cable attaches.
When the pedal potentiometer reads that the pedal has been depressed enough to warrant a kickdown, the ECU will tell this servo to move. The servo rotates, which pulls the cable, which kicks down the transmission into the next lowest gear.
