You can indeed use the b234 short block in the 9-5. But, you will still need to use the b235 timing cover which means keeping the not so good b235 oil pump. Make sure you replace it. Some claimed that a b234 oil pump would fit into the b235 timing cover with some machine work but I dont know about that. Other than that, the b235 head will lower the compression of the b234 motor but I dont think you'll notice because I have a 93 Aero with lower compression than the 94- b234 and I didn't notice any difference between the two.
