9000 TCS cars I think got more of a bad rap than they might have deserved mainly because that few dealer techs in the beginning quite knew what they had and were doing and then even fewer Saab independents knew what they were dealing with and then it trickled down to DIY people trying to reinvent the wheel by not having neither the scan tools, knowledge or money to repair it the right way.
Not to mention all that just hooked up vacuum hoses the wrong way and went on a downhill death spiral from thereon until the hoses were corrected.
It can be challenging at times but usually the system works when the right parts are used and you are not trying to get the system to work with worn out parts like the bleeder valve and throttle body.
The NG900 and 9000 V6 engine got the same bad rap with timing belt breaks due to that Saab quite didn't know what they had and what they were dealing with.
If all those early cars had had a new timing belt kit installed the first time, it would not have been an issue since we know just about never hear of any timing belt breaks since the Saab community is all aware of it.
