Anyone with experience with these? The bearing (or at least the bearing picture on the Timken web site) has a nice metal shield over the seal, and I am hoping the name still means something. The SKF wheel hubs are in the $240-$250 range, and I was a little leary of buying a brand named "Optimal" from eEuroparts for $130. (Optimal for whom I wonder, the buyer or the seller?)
I found the Timken wheel hub on one site for $188 and was ready to buy it, but I decided to check the two local big name auto parts stores on a whim. Advance Auto Parts had a Beck/Arnley (SKF) for $300 and a no-name for $200. Autozone was the big surprise with $129 for the Timken and $100 for a no-name. The hub was not available locally for pickup, but shipping was free with a charge for sales tax. Add a $15 gift card for a web purchase over $100, and that works out to a $115 plus tax ($6.50 in my state) for the bearing.
I'll see if it is any good when it gets here. It could just be an "Optimal" in a Timken box, but I hope not.
