Is there any transmission whine? That would indicate a bad differential bearing = replace trans. If it pops out of gear, there's enough wear to warrant replacement. Have someone press the clutch while you watch the slave through the inspection hole. I can't imagine the slave wouldn't move if you pressed the pedal, unless the master is leaking. But you'd notice pedal floppiness and hydraulic fluid on the floor mat.
